Roehampton Lofts, Wandsworth

Scope:

A terrace of three buildings forming six dwellings in total. It was designed to maximise light egress and utilises a steel frame superstructure.

Engineering Challenges:

  • Design of thermal breaks that fit into wall cavities
  • Design of “sympathetic” steel moment connections and haunches that “fit” the architecture
  • Finite Element Analysis [FEA] was used as the building has significant fenestration thus making deflection critical.

Procurement: Traditional

Architects: LAB Architects
